Sylvanside Farm, originally established in 1744, carries romance and history in equal measure.
The breath-taking views, historic barns, and manicured grounds are the perfect stage to host the farm wedding of your dreams at Sylvanside. From walking down the aisle next to our spring-fed pond to dancing with your family and friends under the star-studded sky, there’s not a moment you won’t be surrounded in beauty. Our name translates from the Scottish, by the woods, which we believe gave ample material to build not one, but two large barns, a manor house, historic cottage, hunt box, and rustic smoke house. All of these structures, plus the farm’s 25-acres of land and freshwater pond are available for our guests.
While there are many beautiful venues for you to consider, only Sylvanside offers scalability and ample accommodations on the farm for friends and family. We can welcome up to 225 guests for a sit-down event indoors (just in case Mother Nature doesn’t know it’s your special day!).
Romantic Stone Barn
The Stone Barn is the heart of Sylvanside Farm’s old-world charm. Originally hand-built in 1744, the craftsmanship is a clear nod to love that stands the test of time. The space is perfect for an intimate reception, a covered space for an indoor ceremony (hello, rain plan!), cocktail reception with the built-in bar, or as a backdrop for photoshoots with our friendly team of Clydesdales. Seats 200.
Intimate Orchard
Spring-blooming apple, cherry, and magnolia trees, which frame a rectangular lawn in our homestead’s orchard, provide an unspeakably beautiful backdrop for couples who are hoping for natural, outdoor beauty to illuminate their ceremony. The site boasts an organic altar of two boxwoods that can be decorated to suit. This intimate setting can accommodate weddings of up to 225 guests.
Rustic Poplar Barn
At over 200 feet long, our Poplar Barn makes Sylvanside Farm one of the largest barn venues in Virginia. The post-and-beam structure is not only renowned for its scale, but also its sense of rustic grandeur. Able to host up to 225 seated guests for any occasion, it provides a weather-proof rain date alternative for weddings or large parties.

Pond Overlook
Two natural springs flow to our breathtaking freshwater pond complete with wooden dock, weeping cherries, and spectacular sunset views. The overlook is an unforgettable site for ceremonies, intimate post-ceremony pictures or a private, celebratory glass of champagne.
